Delete Your Account

We're sorry to see you go. This page will help you delete your Giftpik account and all associated data.

Before You Delete

⚠️ Warning: This action is permanent and cannot be undone.

When you delete your account, the following will happen:

  • All your contacts will be permanently deleted
  • All your gift ideas will be permanently deleted
  • All your photos and attachments will be permanently deleted
  • All your reminders and notifications will stop
  • Your subscription will be canceled (no refunds)
  • You will lose access to all data within 24 hours
  • All data will be completely removed from our servers within 30 days

How to Delete Your Account

Option 1: Delete In-App (Recommended)

This is the fastest way to delete your account.

  1. Open the Giftpik app on your device
  2. Go to Settings (tap the gear icon)
  3. Scroll down to Account section
  4. Tap Delete Account
  5. Confirm your decision
  6. Your account will be deleted immediately

Option 2: Email Request

If you can't access the app, send us an email.

Send an email to privacy@giftpik.app with:

  • Subject: "Account Deletion Request"
  • Include: The email address associated with your Giftpik account
  • Include: Confirmation that you want to permanently delete all data

We will process your request within 48 hours and send you a confirmation email once your account has been deleted.

Option 3: Web Form

Fill out the form below to submit a deletion request.

What Happens After Deletion?

Immediate (Within 24 hours)

  • You will lose access to your account
  • You won't be able to log in
  • Your subscription will be canceled
  • All app features will be inaccessible

Within 30 Days

  • All your personal data will be permanently deleted from our servers
  • All backups containing your data will be purged
  • Your data cannot be recovered after this point

What We Keep (Legal Requirements)

We may retain certain information if required by law:

  • Transaction records (for tax/accounting purposes)
  • Legal compliance records (if applicable)
  • Aggregated, anonymized analytics (no personal information)

This data cannot be used to identify you personally.

Canceling Subscriptions

📱 Important: Deleting your account does NOT automatically cancel App Store/Play Store subscriptions.

If you have an active premium subscription, you must cancel it separately:

Cancel on iOS (iPhone/iPad):

  1. Open Settings
  2. Tap your name at the top
  3. Tap Subscriptions
  4. Select Giftpik
  5. Tap Cancel Subscription

Cancel on Android:

  1. Open Google Play Store
  2. Tap the menu icon (three lines)
  3. Tap Subscriptions
  4. Select Giftpik
  5. Tap Cancel Subscription

Note: Refunds must be requested through Apple or Google. We cannot issue refunds directly.

Alternatives to Deletion

If you're not sure about permanently deleting your account, consider these options:

  • Disable Notifications: Turn off reminders in Settings without deleting your account
  • Export Your Data: Download your contacts and gift ideas before deleting
  • Cancel Premium: Downgrade to the free plan instead of deleting
  • Take a Break: Simply stop using the app - your data will remain secure

Your Privacy Rights

Account deletion is just one of your privacy rights. You can also:

  • Request your data: Get a copy of all your personal information
  • Correct your data: Update inaccurate information
  • Restrict processing: Limit how we use your data
  • Data portability: Transfer your data to another service
